Imagine yourself dropping onto a soft bed of grass in a fragrant meadow with a murmuring brook flowing nearby. As you lie still, head propped on arms, gazing silently at the clear blue sky and the occasional cloud floating by, your mind grows quiet––a feeling that ‘All Is Well’ effortlessly seeps in. There’s nothing more you want from life in that moment.

What if it were possible to feel that way right here, right now without going anywhere? Yes, this is indeed possible since this state of wellbeing and calmness is our natural state.  What gets in the way is our mind. If you pause right now to simply watch your thoughts you will be amazed at how many thoughts rush through your mind within a matter of seconds. It takes very little to distract us. In fact our mind is a like a sponge which effortlessly collects thoughts and impressions as we go about the business of living. Imagine then how dirty this sponge is likely to be?

On the other hand have you ever noticed how your mind goes silent and you lose track of time when you are focused on doing something you love like listening to music, or pursuing a hobby such as gardening or painting?  This is because when the mind is completely absorbed you effortlessly move from a distracted, noisy mind to a silent, focused mind.

And a silent focused mind is the gateway for effortlessly entering our natural, meditative state, one in which we feel utterly content and calm. Therefore it is valuable to learn the art of nurturing a quiet mind, one that remains stable despite the whirlwind of activity, emotions and challenges we face daily.

In our Mindfulness & Meditation Coaching:

  • We follow the systematic approach provided by Ashtanga Yoga (in fact most people don’t know that Yoga is classically defined as the practice of stilling the fluctuations of the mind)
  • We guide you step-by-step in the process of Meditation or ‘Dhyana’­­. The eight steps of Ashtanga Yoga serve as different gears of meditation practice. We teach you how and when to apply these gears so that as you keep practicing, your mind gets trained to spontaneously meditate without too much resistance
  • We support you in cultivating a regular meditation practice––dealing with practical issues that often arise
  • ­We coach you in practicing Mindfulness through your day––paying attention to the present moment, not letting memories of the past or worries of the future carry you away
  • We coach in-person and on Skype. Our sessions are for 45 minutes and are personalized for your needs
